1. APPROVAL OF THE OCTOBER 20, 2021, REGULAR MEETING MINUTES
2. COMMUNICATION AND CORRESPONDENCE Information received on behalf of the Commission during the month of November. * Assorted Program Flyers
3. FINDINGS REQUIRED BY AB 361 FOR THE CONTINUED USE OF TELECONFERENCING FOR MEETINGS In order for the Commission to continue to have the option to meet via teleconference during the pandemic, AB 361 required the Commission to make specified findings at least every thirty (30) days.
a. A state of emergency has been proclaimed by California’s Governor due to the COVID-19 pandemic and continues in effect; and
b. The Commission has reconsidered the circumstances of the state of emergency; and
c. State and local officials continue to recommend measures to promote social distancing to slow the spread of COVID-19.
REGULAR BUSINESS
4. SEVEN YEAR CAPITAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM DISCUSSION Each year the Community Services Commission advises the Parks and Recreation Department regarding park development and facility renovation within the city of Tustin. Since 2016, in response to the city’s adoption of a two-year budget, the Seven Year Capital Improvement Program Discussion has been a regular item on the Community Services Commission’s February agenda. This year with the new budget cycle, the agenda item was moved to the November agenda.
5. CPRS CONFERENCE UPDATE The 2022 California Parks and Recreation Society (CPRS) Conference and Expo will be held March 8-11, 2022, in Sacramento, California. Funding for the Community Services Commissioners to attend the conference has been included in the FY 2021-2022 Operating Budget.
6. SPECIAL EVENT REVIEW – HALLOWEEN HOWL AND VETERANS DAY The Community Services Commission’s Strategic Priorities include recommending improvements to community special events. The Parks and Recreation Department’s two most recent events were the Halloween Howl and the Veterans Day Celebration.
