2. COMMUNICATION AND CORRESPONDENCE Correspondence received on behalf of the Commission during April.
REGULAR BUSINESS
3. CITY OF TUSTIN COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT – YEAR IN REVIEW 2022 Staff will provide the Commissioners a Year in Review Report 2022, prepared by the Community Development Department, regarding citywide building, planning, and development activities in the city of Tustin.
4. SPECIAL EVENT REVIEW – TRACK MEET, EASTER CELEBRATION AND EGG HUNT, AND COMMUNITY YARD SALE The Community Services Commission’s Strategic Priorities include recommending improvements to community special events. The Parks and Recreation Department’s three most recent events were Youth Track Meet, Easter Celebration and Egg Hunt, and Community Yard Sale.
5. CONCERTS IN THE PARK PARTICIPATION AND JUNE / JULY COMMISSION MEETING OPTIONS The Community Services Commission will consider their options for participation in the summer Concerts in the Park series. Depending on this participation, staff will recommend potential alternatives to the Regular Meetings of the Community Services Commission in June and July 2023.
6. COMMUNITY SERVICES COMMISSION PARTICIPATION AT THE 2023 CINCO DE MAYO CELEBRATION The Community Services Commission’s Strategic Priorities include increasing the presence of the Commission in the community. In furtherance of this priority, the Commission is invited to participate in the Cinco de Mayo Celebration on Friday, May 5, 2023.
7. CALIFORNIA PARKS AND RECREATION SOCIETY CONFERENCE REVIEW The 2023 California Parks and Recreation Society (CPRS) Conference and Expo was held April 3 – 6, 2023, in San Diego. Commissioners attended with Parks and Recreation Department staff members on behalf of the City.
8. COMMISSIONER PARK VISIT REPORTS Commissioners will provide a report to the Commission on their park visits as follows: Wesson Camino Real, Centennial, Tustin Sports Nakamoto Columbus Tustin, Peppertree, Pine Tree Marsh Peery Frontier, Veterans Sports, Victory Henderson Citrus Ranch, Laurel Glen, Magnolia Tree, McFadden Pasadena Kozak Cedar Grove, Heritage, Pioneer Road
9. COMMISSIONER LIAISON REPORTS Commissioners will provide a report to the Commission on their liaison assignments as follows: Wesson Tustin Community Foundation Nakamoto Senior Advisory Board Marsh Peery Community Outreach Henderson Economic Development Kozak Special Events
